Cleaning WILL kill me one day!
This weekend I took on the task of SCRUBBING the house. I don't just mean the weekly dusting and cleaning, I mean standing on a 6 foot ladder, on the top rung that you are not supposed to stand on, with a 4 foot duster and removed all of the cobwebs and dusties from the cathedral ceiling. All while on the 2nd landing of the stairs. I even went as far as dusting and scrubbing the blinds, window sills and windows themselves that are at the top of the stairs of our 20' cathedral ceilings.
Now, if that weren't enough, I also pulled that ladder downstairs and stood (not at the top, but almost) and with that duster, removed the 6 months worth of build up on the ceiling fan, yes, the one located at 20 feet up as well. However, my wonderful daughter Christie helped by standing at the top of the balcony and telling to me where I was missing on the top of the fan blads.
I took down the curtains for washing, installed new blinds, even dusted behind the entertainment center. Now, you may ask yourself "how long has it been since this girl dusted?" But let me assure you, I dust WEEKLY. Scrub toilets every other day and vacuum 4 times a week. But recently Ashley (6) has been having major difficulty with her asthma and the doctor recommended doing a complete overhaul of the house. Well, I don't take that lightly. It only took me 5 1/2 hours to clean the first floor, ceiling, windows and 2 bathrooms. We are supposed to have Thanksgiving dinner at our house and will be leaving for a Florida vacation (just hubby and I) at 4 AM Thursday morning and not return until Monday at around 11:30 PM. So, I still have about 2 full days to complete the cleaning (4 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 2 more bathrooms and the basement) all before Thursday at 3:00.
I know what your thinking, she can do it! But, I also have parent/teacher conferences at 2 schools, grocery shopping for the dinner, eye doctor appointments for all 4 kids and 2 dogs to the groomer. Thank goodness for paid time off at work. So, with the carpet cleaners coming in on Tuesday afternoon, I think I should be able to get it ALL done by 2:35 on Thursday! What do you think?

And the construction continues
We worked very hard last year to get our basement completed. We got it done to a point, so now we continue to really get it the way we want it. It still needs a little work, but we are getting there.

Happy Halloween!
Hope everyone has a GREAT time trick or treating. We did ours on Sunday. It was a beautiful day for tricks and treats.

It Finally Happened!
We moved into our home 6 years ago this November and it was just after moving in that Ron sat down and started drawing. He drew exactly what he wanted his yard to look like, right down to what type of flowers he wanted growing in his yard. So, 3 weeks ago, we woke up and decided, this was the weekend. We went shopping for the plants, the pond materials and the mulch. After breaking 2 shovels, we rented a rototiller and here is how it all took place.

They just keep growing.
Well, school's been in session for 6 1/2 weeks now and the kids are already asking when vacation is. I find it amazing that all but Courtney are in school all day. Sometimes I just want to stay home with them, crawl back under the covers and just hang out with them.
Christie is at that age now, when she asks if we can sit and snuggle, I would burn dinner just to have more time. And knowing that Courtney will be there soon, I just want every minute of these little years I have left to just hug and squeeze her and not let go.
So yesterday, when the kids came home from school, I found it amazing that their school pictures came in and I found myself just staring and asking myself, are they really getting this big??? They don't seem this old in real life, but when you look at the pictures, MAN ALIVE, I can't believe it. See for yourself, let me know what you think.

Here is Ashley, she still looks like my precious little girl. But look at Will, man, he has really come into his own. Isn't he handsome?

Winners and Losers!
Okay, so here is how the update goes.
Bears - LOSERS!!!!! Okay, let's make this as quick as possible. If these guys don't start working as a team, well, I think I will cry. I saw OU lose by one field goal with something like 3/10 of a second left and I couldn't believe it. OU is playing so great. They play like a team should play, they communicate and work great together. I suggest that Brad send Lovie some tapes (don't think that's cheating when the under classmen send the tapes to the big guys) and maybe they will learn something. Couldn't hurt - CAMP FAMILY - HINT HINT HINT !!!
USA Women's Team - WINNERS!!! YEAH!!!
They outscored Norway 4 to 1. It was a great game and an unbelievable way to go out. Brazil got killed 2 to 0 by Germany, yet the US Women were up there at the awards ceremony with smiles on and were so very proud to have taken 3rd place. I am so proud of them. They could have been in that 1st place and they know that, but they still smiled and were thankful for what they got. Brazil on the other hand - SORE LOSERS. That is all I have to say on that one. Better luck next time.
